JAMMU, Sept 25: Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committe (SRMWC) appealed the SSP Jammu to deploy policeman on the main gate of Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir.
In an emergency meeting of the committee, spokesperon and legal advisor of the committe Advocate Jyoti Sarup Mishra said that few days back police lifted the picket from the main gate of Ranbireshwar Temple on the plea that police constables are required at Srinagar and other parts of the State for relief operations.
He said that it is right on behalf of Government that relief operations are speeded up in the flood affected areas but it is very unfortunate that police picket is lifted from the main Shiv temple of the city.
He said daily hundereds of pilgrims from different parts of the world visits Ranbireshwar temple and adjoining Yasho Karan Park and anything can happen in absence of security staff of Police. He said police department should again establish police picket at Ranbireshwar Temple Shalamar road as early as possible.
