Estate Department employees protest, highlight demands

JAMMU, July 3: Highlighting their demands, employees of the Estate Department today held a protest demonstration in front of the office of Executive Engineer Estate Division Jammu.
Led by Prem Singh Baba and Yash Paul Sharma, the protest demonstration was held under the banner of J&K Co-ordination Committee of Estate Employees Unions.
The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands, which include holding of DPC, re-organization of Estate Department, regularization of daily rated workers, release of pending wages, time bound promotion, provision of two and half day additional pay, issuance of order orders under SRO-43 etc.
They also demanded immediate transfer of outsider employees, who are posted in the Estate Department since decades.
While addressing the gathering, Prem Singh Baba threatened that the employees of Estate Department would go on strike if their demands are not conceded within 15 days.
Others, who addressed the protesting employees, included Rashpal, Puran Chand, Tilak Raj, Subash Chander, Sagar Massi, Ravi Sharma, Mohinder Pal, Kuldep Raj, Baljit Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Ram Chand, Vijay Koul, Raju Supervisor and Jeet Raj.
