JAMMU, Mar 28: The Estate Department employees staged protest here today to project their demands.
Large number of employees under the banner of All J&K Estate Employees Association Jammu Province assembled in the premises of office of Deputy Director Estate Department Gandhi Nagar here and raised slogans in favour of their demands. The protest was led by President of the Association Prem Singh Bawa.
The protesters also raised slogans against the anti-employees attitude of the Government and warned the State authorities to consider the long pending demands of the employees failing which the association will launch two days protest again.
While speaking, Bawa said that reorganization of the department was done in 1973 as the department was established in 1968, but nothing has been done after 1973.
He demanded DPC of general clerical employees, benefits of promotion to the employees working against the post of the clerical cadre for the last 20 years, conduct DPC twice a year and regularization of all daily wagers.
Bawa also demanded release of salary arrears pending since 2001 to 2011 to all categories, time bound promotions with arrears and pending arrears, settled cases pending under SRO-43, engage daily wages staff directly through department without interference of any other agency, continuation of daily wagers who were deleted from the list, frame latest recruitment rules for the benefit of the employee of the department and provide tools and uniforms to technicians.
Among others present were Tilak Raj, Puran Chand, Mohinder Lal, Kuldeep Raj, Shambo Singh, Mulkh Raj, Balwinder Kumar, Dharam Pal, Vijay Koul, etc.
