Estate employees protest against alleged trespassing

JAMMU, Jan 21:  Up in arms against alleged trespassing of Government quarters in various colonies of Estate Department besides manhandling of watch and ward staff, employees of the Estate Department today held a strong protest demonstration in front of the office of Deputy Director, Estates Jammu.
They raised slogans against alleged trespassing into the Government quarters and demanded action against the persons responsible for the same. They also alleged that the trespassing persons did looting in the quarters and took away several valuable items with the help of some Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted employees.
The protest was organized under the banner of Co-ordination Committee of Estate Employees Association.  The Association appealed the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary for Estates Department and Director Estates to immediately intervene into the matter and sought the issue amicably solved.
During the protest, the protesting employees also highlighted their other demands, which include re-organization of Estate Department, regularization of Daily rated workers, provision of two and half day additional salary, holding of DPC, continuation of retrenched need based workers, correct pay fixation, release of arrears, etc.
The protest was addressed by Yash Paul Sharma, Prem Singh Bawa, Tilak Raj, Rachpal Lal, Puran Chand, Rajinder Singh and others.
