JAMMU, Aug 14: The Estates employees under the banner of Co-ordination Committee of Estates Department Employees Unions, have resolved to struck work and stage two days protest demonstration on August 18 and 19.
Addressing joint press conference here today, Coordinators of the Committee Yash Paul Sharma and Prem Singh Bawa alleged that for the last several months, many representations and reminders were given to the higher authorities   in the department to address pending demands of the Estates employees but Director and Dy Directors Estates have failed to resolve the same. There is strong resentment among the employees over the delaying attitude of the senior officers of the department.
The officers during meetings only paid lip sympathy and gave false assurances but the demands remained un- addressed. There is stagnation in the department and no promotions were conducted since long.
They strongly demanded that pending issues related to reorganization of Estates Department, holding of  DPC, transfer of over stayed employees, provision of two and half days additional pay, release of pending salary of need based workers, regularization of daily rated workers, releasing arrears of time bound promotions and construction of own building to house the office of Dy Director Estates in Jammu be resolved without any further delay.
