Estates employees warn protest

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 8: Estates employees will hold 2-day protest demonstration from August 18 if their demands are not considered by the higher authorities of the department.
The decision in this regard was taken by the Co-ordination Committee of Estates Employees, Jammu in a meeting held here today.
The committee said that it has always extended its full support to the administration of the Estates Department for its day-to-day functioning, but the higher authorities of the department have started harassing the lower employees by way imposing outside employees  in the office of Deputy Director Estates, Jammu, which is against the recruitment rules and due to which there is strong resentment among all the employees of the department.
The committee demanded immediately sending back of the same employee to his own place of posting i.e. Direction Office, Estates Department. Their other demands include holding of DPC, re-organization of Estates Department, provision of two and a half day additional pay, implementation of transfer policy, regularization of daily rated workers, etc.
