ETT stakeholders lift dharna after high voltage drama, meeting with DyCM

JAMMU, Apr 1:In a high voltage drama, two members of protesting ETT College Owners Association climbed the tower of a telecommunication company and threatened suicide in protest against no decision by the Government over their demand for registration of admitted students for the session 2011-13 and conducting their exams.
The drama invited attention of the Government administration, which rushed to the spot and hurriedly arranged a meeting of protesting ETT college owners  with Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who holds the portfolio of Education.
Following an assurance by the DyCM for early redressal of their demand, the ETT college owners suspended their ongoing month long stir and dharna at BOSE premises.
According to Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, senior member of Joint Action Committee of ETT Colleges, the Dy CM assured that their demand for registration of admitted students for the session 2011-13 and their early exam would be positively considered by the Board of Governors for one time exemption following which they suspended their ongoing dharna.
Earlier, two members of  ETT College Owners Association, namely Bhanu Jamwal and Rakesh Pant climbed the  tower of a telecommunication company carrying  kerosene gallons in Rajpura Mangotrian area amid  slogans against the Government. They were demanding that the Minister concerned should visit the site and assure them to conduct the examination of admitted students otherwise they would make bid on life.
After Additional Deputy Commissioner reached the site and arranged a meeting between the representatives of ETT Colllege owners, the duo stepped down from the towers.
