RAMBAN, Oct 11: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Choudhary Lal Singh has said that Government is committed to extend quality healthcare facilities to every nook and corner of the State.
Addressing a function organized in connection with the 121st birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the Health Minister said that the Government has already initiated various landmark initiatives in the health sector to improve the quality of services being provided by the healthcare institutions. He said a Model Hospital is being provided in each constituency to ensure better healthcare facilities for the people.
Responding to the demands of the locals, the Minister ordered on-the-spot posting of Dr Narinder Singh as pediatrician at the District Hospital, Ramban.
Regarding ongoing rationalization of schools, the Minister said that the schools in remote areas and those located in difficult terrain would not be touched during rationalization as such a move would cause immense inconvenience for the students of the far-flung areas.
On the issue of dilapidated condition of under-construction PMGSY link roads and the non-initiation of the Phase-II of the PMGSY, the Minister said the issue needs re-look as no contractor is willing to take up works in the second phase of PMGSY because of cost escalation.
The Minister urged the people, especially the youth to take a pledge to abstain from every kind of intoxicant and drugs.
The function was organized by Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha, Ramban.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Sub District Hospital Banihal and interacted with the patients and their attendants who put forth their demands and highlighted the grievances. The Minster assured that the problems would be looked into and resolved on priority.
