JAMMU, May 26: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today claimed that all sections of society were suffering under PDP-BJP rule as promises made to them have turned out to be hollow.
“It is sad to see that our State is suffering from unprecedented violence and hatred today. State is going through turbulent times under this Govt,” Bhall said while addressing public gathering at Shanti Nagar Kunjwani in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Launching attack on Coalition Govt, the Congress leader said that this Government has left no stone unturned to destroy democratic institutions. He stressed that the State needed fair and strong constitutional institutions. Taking serious cognizance of continuous discrimination in employment sector by neglecting highly educated youth of Jammu region, Bhalla said time has come for youth of Jammu region to launch aggressive agitation and seek justice.
Lashing out at BJP, Bhalla said that selection lists issued during BJP-PDP rule are totally biased as only 10 percent jobs have been provided to Jammu youth. BJP has become mute spectator on discrimination. He added that jobs to stone-throwers, kin of militants, had exposed the disgusting loyalty of the BJP with Jammu youth boiling with rage against its opportunistic politics. He said that the general public including traders, businessmen, farmers, unemployed, families of the martyrs, border residents besides daily wagers, casual workers, contractual lecturers, etc had been bearing the brunt of the discrimination in all spheres.
Bhalla alleged that long cuts and irregular power supply has irked the general public. Drinking water is a severe problem affecting people across all sections in the entire region. Price rise is an issue that worries people across all the social, economic and political lines.
He alleged that the present PDP-BJP Government is direction less due to absence of any common point in their respective agenda. The State Government has only given rise to a situation of uncertainty, chaos and confusion, Bhalla said. He said the state was passing through the “worst ever misrule. There is total policy paralysis due to inherent contradictions and divergent vested political interests among the two diametric opposite ruling partners, PDP and BJP, in the State, he said.
