KISHTWAR, Apr 18: An Ex-Army man here today shot at himself and was stated to be critical after he fired and injured his wife and daughter at village Anjole Thakrai.
As per reports the shootout started at about 7.15 pm when the retired army personnel Gulam Husain, son of Fakir Mohd, resident of Anjhol Gwari in Kishtwar fired at his wife Rabina Begum with his 12 bore rifle leaving her injured.
Then he turned gun to his daughter Yaserina Banoo and meted out the same treatment to her too before pumping bullets in his own body in an unsuccessful bid to end his own life.
All the three injured were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment by the neighbours who claimed that Gulam Hussain was a habitual drinker and at the time of shootout he was under the influence of liquor.
Though reason behind the incident is not clear yet but police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
