MENDHAR, Mar 26: The son of a retired Assistant Police Inspector of J&K Police committed suicide by using licensed gun of his father at his residence at village Keri Galuta in Mendhar in district Poonch this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Nazakat Hussain (25), son of Nazir Hussain ( Retd ASI), resident of Keri Galuta village in tehsil Mendhar.
Reports said the youth picked up .12 bore gun of his father and allegedly fired on his head, resulting into his instant death at around 2 pm today. The police party from Gursai Police Station rushed to the spot after coming to know about the matter. It examined the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
The body was handed over to the parents after conducting postmortem. The police has seized the gun and registered a case in this connection. Investigation into the case was in progress. Reason behind this extreme step was not known.
