JAMMU, Mar 20: Amid “Hath Se Hath Jodo” campaign launched by Indian National Congress, massive people awareness programme started in Chhamb/Akhnoor constituencies led by former DyCM Tara Chand entered 8th day.
During this mass contact programme, the Padyatra conducted at villages Rakh Malal, Kaleeth, Khour Camp, Kullian and main bazaar Khour.
People from all sections welcomed the Padyatries and raised slogans against present Central as well as State Government which are exaggerating the miseries of common people especially border villages.
While speaking in various meetings, Tara Chand cautioned BJP not to test the patience of J&K people. He said nothing has been done by BJP Govt after 2014 on the name of development, employment avenue and control on the price rises. Recalling the Congress regime, he said thousands of the local youths were engaged then against vacancies created in the name of Rehbr-e-Taleem, Rehbr-e-Zirat, Rehbr-e-Khel, daily wagers, need basis and contractual etc, who are now without salaries for the last three to four years.
Educated unemployed are now feeling themselves cheated by present Government. Various selection lists are being cancelled by the administration on the pretext of leakage by the selection agencies. Price rises of essential commodities are matter of concern now. Widows, handicapped and other beneficiaries are without pension from months together, the genuine cases are deprived from the pension who are lakhs in number , Tara Chand said.
Advocating early grant of full-fledged statehood for J&K, former DyCM said Maharajas extended the boundaries of Dogra state to Gilgit but BJP led Centre Govt, shrinked boundaries of state to Union Territory. This is gift to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who gave 25 legislators to BJP. Our prime property in Delhi and Chandigarh Houses was gifted to Ladakh Houses and BJP legislators remained mute spectators. They have not utter even a single word to protect our property outside.
Prominent among others who spoke in the meetings included Jagatar Singh, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Santosh Manhas, Madan Lal, Hans Raj Bhagat, Sham Lal, Tarsem Singh, Abtar Singh, Prabhat Singh, Jaggu Ram, Sakandya Devi and Ramesh Verma.
