Ex- Legislators’ Welfare Council holds meet

JAMMU, Oct 26:  Ex- Legislator’s Welfare Council in a meeting held at MLA Hostel here under the chairmanship of  Qazi-Jalal-u-Din (Ex-MLA), discussed various issues pertaining to the present political situation in the State and problems faced by the  former Legislators.
In the meeting, former Legislators strongly condemned all those forces which are disturbing peace, unity and communal harmony of the State as well as country. They appealed all sections of the society to remain vigilant and united and defeat the nefarious designs of the anti- social, anti-national elements and come forward to protect the secular fabric of the State  and work for its unity and integrity.
They also showed their concern with  regard to withdrawal of security from the  those senior leaders and  former Legislators  who put  their life in danger at that time when there was disturbance in  J&K State and militancy had deepened  its roots and there  was no political stability at all.
They alleged that present Govt has compromised on the life of the senior leaders and made it quite difficult or rather impossible for them to discharge their social services and allied activities for the sake of society effectively without any proper security arrangements.
Those who were present on the occasion included Ch  Pyara Singh, Ram Pal, Bharat Gandhi, Rattan Lal Gupta, Kashmir Singh, Brij Mohan Sharma, Abdul Wahid, Sagar Chand,   Depinder Kour and Dr Chaman Lal.
