Ex-Minister alleges discrimination with Jammu teachers

UDHAMPUR, June 16: Former minister and senior BJP leader, Pawan Gupta (Ex-MLA) has alleged discrimination with the Master Grade teachers from Jammu region by the State Education authorities.
In a press statement issued here today, the former MLA from Udhampur alleged that a deputation of the teachers which met him here today has claimed that over 315 Master Grade teachers from Jammu region have been rendered junior from their counterparts in Kashmir. He alleged that while Directorate of Education Kashmir has been issuing lists of promotions of Masters and Headmasters but unfortunately, the Jammu Directorate of Education has failed to issue pending lists of Master and Headmasters for the last few years.
The former Minister pointed out that DSE Kashmir has issued promotion list of Masters as I/C headmasters vide order No. 800 of DSEK of 2008 dated 9-6-18 in which 71 Masters have been promoted as I/C Headmasters. In this list the Masters who were appointed in 1986 and 87 have been promoted as I/C Headmaster. Two more lists were issued on June 8 and 12, 2019 by DSE Kashmir where about 184 Masters were promoted. But the Masters appointed during 1986 and 87 in Jammu division are still waiting. Due to non-conduct of DPC in time bound manner over 315 Masters of Jammu division have turned junior.
The BJP leader sought the intervention of concerned Advisor and Commissioner/ Secretary, Education into the matter and warned that discriminatory attitude towards Jammu region will not be tolerated.
