KATHUA, Mar 21: Ex-Minister and Chairman of Nature Mankind Friendly Global Party Babu Singh today raised fingers on the delimitation process going on in Jammu & Kashmir and said that justice has not been done with Kathua people.
He said that new proposal for the reconstituting of North Kathua and South Kathua constituencies is based on North and South areas as North Kathua assembly constituency should be named Kandi belt constituency or Jasrota constituency and areas included the whole kandi belt areas from Lakhanpur Hatli to Dinga Amb as upper area from National highway.
“But in this constituency some area of Andhad was included and Andhad area is included in South Kathua constituency. The basis of South Kathua should be Andhad area from Kerrian Gandyal to Nagari below the National Highway. This formula will ensure continuity and rationality of both the assembly constituencies,” Babu Singh said while addressing a press conference.
The former Minister also said that 65- Kathua Assembly in past remained reserved for five terms for schedule castes. “In the year 1996, the Kathua constituency was de-reserved and in rotation the Hiranagar Assembly constituency was reserved for schedule castes upto now but again in the draft proposal of the Delimitation Commission, the Kathua constituency has been reserved for schedule castes, which is not fair with Kathua people.
He said keeping in view the rotation formula or rotation principle, the next turn of reservations should be from other assembly constituencies which were never reserved. He said that their Party is going to submit its objection online as today was the last date and declared holiday caused problem to people to files their objections.
Babu Singh emphasized on reconstituting Jammu and Kashmir and POK as federal states on the pattern of America. He said their party wants to restore the old status of J&K as statehood to maintain the identity of J&K identity in the world.
