RAJOURI, Apr 8: Ranjit Singh alias Kaka (40), former Sarpanch from Syal Sui and younger brother of former MLA and senior NC leader from Kalakote Rashpal Singh allegedly shot self to death with his revolver at his residence last mid night.
A police spokesman said that Ranjit Singh, son of late Gian Singh, was said to be little disturbed over some domestic issue. He allegedly used his revolver and shot a bullet at his forehead at around 11.50 pm at his home. He was rushed to Kalakote hospital by the family members where he was declared as dead. The body after postmortem was handed over to the family this morning.
A senior police official said that as per some of his relatives, some property settlement issue among the brothers is said to be one of the reasons of his disturbed state of mind. But the police was working on all the angles. A case has been registered in this connection and the reason behind this extreme step will be ascertained shortly. He was a former Sarpanch and also local NC leader having good property of his own. The relations among the brothers were also said to be good as per their some local relatives. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the last rites of the deceased.
