JAMMU, June 8: Ex-Paramilitary Force Welfare Association held protest demonstration outside Press Club here in support of long pending genuine demands and work out strategy to approach Central Government with regard to One Rank One Pension and other allied issues. The protest was organized under the chairmanship of Shashi Kumar Sharma, its president. Veer Naris also joined the protest.
The speakers held that the Central leadership was seemingly least interested in mitigating the suffering and hardships being suffered by the personnel of ex-paramilitary forces. They said it was astonishing that an MLA, MLC or MP who serve for five years are provided all benefits while a person who serves the country for 25 years is not given any benefit.
They said there were about 15 lakh retired personnel including Veer Naris who have served in BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF and Assam Rifles all over the country with dedication and honesty at par with regular army but when it comes to benefits, these stand denied to ex-paramilitary persons though their recruitment was made under the provisions of the Constitution of India.
Those who participated in the protest demonstration besides the president Shashi Kumar Sharma included D K Chohan (general secretary), Gurbachan Singh (District Samba president), Dalip Singh, vice president, Nooor Mohammad (General secretary Samba), Ramnat Saini, Kamlesh Kumari and Ashok Kumar.
