JAMMU, May 12:  Demanding One Rank One Pension (OROP) for the Paramilitary Forces at par with Defence Forces to avoid division of soldiers, Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association has announced a massive peace protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on May 15.
Announcing this during a press conference, here today, the Association president Shashi Kumar Sharma appealed all the retired personnel of Central Para Military Forces, Veer Naris and their dependants to reach Jantar Mantar for sending a strong message to the Government over their demand.
While justifying their demand of OROP, he said that the Indian Armed Forces and Central Para Military Forces were created under the provisions of same Constitution and were performing almost similar job.
“BSF is defending Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh borders while CRPF is looking after the duty of marinating peace; ITBP is defending the Indo-China Border, SSB is on Indo-Nepal Border, CISF is to serve the Government’s vital establishment all over the country and Assam Rifles is deployed on need basis,” he explained.

The Association claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in favour of OROP for the Para Military Force but the Minister of Home Rajnath Singh was not interest for the same.
“We 15 lakh retired personnel, Veer Naris and 75 lakh dependents of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, CISF and Assam Rifles all over the country, honestly requested and approached the GoI for  OROP and other benefits at par with Defence force so that Para Military Forces may not feel discriminated,”  appealed Darshan Kumar, general secretary of the Association.
