Ex-paramilitary men demand opening of canteens

JAMMU, June 8: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association has demanded opening of canteens for Paramilitary forces as the family members of the Paramilitary forces are facing problems due to the closure of these canteens.
Following the guidelines of COVID-19, the office bearers of the Association held a meeting under the leaders of general secretary, DK Chouhan at Green Belt, Gandhi Nagar in which they appealed to IG, BSF (Nodal Officer) Paloura Camp, DIG BSF, CRPF Bantalab (Nodal Officer) and CISF Commandant Reasi to open all the canteens which are closed for the last three months due to COVID-19 pandemic.
“However, the Indian army has opened all the canteens from May 17 and on the same pattern, some of the canteens of paramilitary forces too be opened,” said Chouhan, adding that few days back, a delegation of the Association had met IG, BSF (Nodal Officer) and requested him for opening of Centre Armed Police canteen at RS Pura for the welfare of paramilitary forces personnel and their family members.
