Ex-Servicemen rally organised

DODA, June 15: Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Doda, Major (retd) SL Khajuria along with his team of officials under the aegis of Brigadier (Retd), RS Langeh,VSM Director Sainik Welfare department, organised an Ex-servicemen rally at Palmar in a remote area of District Kishtwar, in which a large number of Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naries from far flung areas participated.
On the occasion, Major Khajuria spoke about the various welfare schemes and concessions being extended by the Central and State Governments for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naries. He apprised them about enhancement of recurring grant paid to war memorial hostels at regimental centers, refund of outstanding Army Group Insurance, Medical benefit scheme subscription, pension help desk for navel Ex-Servicemen/widows and endorsement of family pension in respect of living pensioners.
He also briefed them about the computer training programmes for the wards of Ex-servicemen or widows, submission of non-marriage certificate to the DPDO Udhampur by family pensioners and financial assistance to non-pensioner Ex-servicemen or widows for treatment of serious diseases.
He also educated ESM and Veer Naries about PM’s scholarship scheme, financial assistance from RMDF, reservation for ESM, Daughter marriage grant, Travelling allowance for ECHS patients and grant of family pension for life to handicapped children of Armed Forces personnel.
Meanwhile, all the routine documentation work like renewal of identity cards, CSD cards and filling of financial assistance forms was done on the spot by the staff.
