Ex-servicemen rally organised

POONCH, Jan 11: An ex-servicemen rally was organised by Zila Sainik Welfare Board Poonch at  Mendhar town today.
Zila Sanik Welfare Officer Poonch, Maj (Retd),   Prem Singh addressed the gathering and apprised the ex-servicemen and their families about various welfare schemes of the Government launched for their welfare. A large number of ex-servicemen, their families and war widows attended the rally which was organised under the directions of Director, Sainik Welfare Department J&K, Brig Harcharan Singh.
Earlier, Hav Shamim Ahmed, district president ESL Mendhar welcomed the Sainik Welfare Officer and others attending the programme.  The Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, besides educating them about the welfare schemes also  resolved their problems on the spot. The ZSWO briefed them about the procedures for recruitment/ commissioning  into the three services of Armed Forces  for dependent eligible children. CSD Smart Cards applications and letters for the Station orders were prepared on the spot.
The newly retired persons of the area were issued Ex-servicemen I-Cards. The duplicate identity cards of ex-servicemen and widows of Militia relief, WWII veterans and pensioners were carried out. The Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme and other requirements were briefed by the Zila Officer to the gathering. He educated them about the necessity of ECHS Smart Card and importance its membership. He also made them aware about the joint notification for family pension and its importance.
The ZSWO also briefed the Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris about the publication of birth occurrence of their children in part-II orders and its necessities. Problems being faced by ESM and veer naris were discussed with them.
