RAJOURI, Feb 5: In order to commemorate the Nowshera Day, a veterans rally was organized by the Army here today.
It was well attended by ex-servicemen from the entire Nowshera sector and their response was overwhelming.
The rally was addressed by Maj Gen Saranjeet Singh, General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division. He acknowledged and appreciated the sacrifices and dedication of the Veterans during their service. He said that aim of the rally was to look at and resolve issues, if any, being faced after retirement by the veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents as also offer opportunities of re-employment in various civil/ Government agencies.
The information kiosks were established at the rally by various organisations like Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Record Offices, ECHS, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, Animal Husbandry, Banks (SBI & PNB) and LIC & DHLF Insurance and they helped the Veterans and Veer Naris by bringing in more awareness and knowledge and also broaden their horizons. Military stalls were placed for resolving grievances and personal problems of the Veterans and also provide information & awareness stalls for re-employment.
The General Officer also lauded the efforts put in by various military and civil agencies in creating awareness in the form of information booths to serve the ex-servicemen. The veterans appreciated the coordination and talent of the Army personnel who performed the adventure activities like sky diving, motor cycle display, dog show and horse show.
