REASI, Aug 11: The Rashtriya Rifles battalion at Talwara, under the aegis of Uniform Force Headquarters based at Reasi, organized ex-servicemen rally for veterans, Veer Naris and war widows, here today.
Total 181 veterans, 15 widows and two Veer Naris attended the meet during which the veterans got an opportunity to share their experiences with Army personnel and boast of the contribution made by the Army in the region.
Highlight of the meet was an informal interaction resulting in registration of the veterans, widows and veer naris for Jeevan Praman Patra Scheme and registration of Aadhar Cards at their doorstep. A total of 104 pension related grievances were addressed using the Suvigya Package.
President of Ex-servicemen League, Reasi Zone, said it was a very noble and first of its kind initiative by the Army and the civil administration to assist veterans who have served the nation.
