Baramulla, Dec 22: In a bid to encourage and acknowledge the performance of the people from cross section of society who have worked with dedication and honesty besides outshine in their respective domains of work were conferred Infotel Awards 2013 in function grand award ceremony held at Sheriwani Community Hall Baramulla.
Valleys renowned radio and television artist, theater-cum-drama artist, singers, civil and police official, doctors journalists were awarded by Infotel Telephone and Information Directory.
Minister of Agriculture Ghulam Hussan Mir was chief guest while as Director General, Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Bashir Arif and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Ghulam Ahmed Kawaja were guests of honour.
“The sole aim of organizing this award ceremony was to encourage and acknowledge the dedicated personalities who have contributed towards betterment of society as whole in their respective fields,” said Manger Infotel Telephone and Information Directory and KNS Bureau Chief Mohammed Latief Bhat.
“It was informed that Infotel Award presenting ceremony will be organised every year on December, 22 to encourage all such personalities who have marked outstanding contribution in the field of public service and other sectors,” added Bhat.

On this occasion, Kashmir Images North Kashmir Bureau Chief Reyaz Ahmed was awarded for his extensive reporting on different issues and public grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, the Agriculture Minister said that Journalism is an important profession which helps in promotion of Art, Culture and Languages besides keeping general public abreast with day to day happenings. He lauded Infotel-KNS for instituting the Infotel awards for encouraging best performers for their outstanding contributions in different fields of life.
The artists of the Jhankar Group, Sopore, Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan gave scintillating cultural presentations.
Later, the Minster distributed Infotel awards 2013 to District Development Commissioner, Baramulla and SDM, Sopore in the field of administration, Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendent in Health sector, Principals and artists of various schools, Radio and Doordarshan.
