Excise sleuths conduct raids in Kathua

JAMMU, Nov 12: The Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division and in a raid conducted by its sleuths in some villages of Kathua district today, it recovered and destroyed more than 200 kilograms of Lahan, 112  pouches of illicit liquor made from 1150 kilograms of Lahan, which is highly injurious to health.
The Lehan and pouches of liquor was recovered by the raiding team which was held under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu  Mohammed Shahid Saleem and led by Arun Kumar inspector Excise under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer, Eradication & Enforcement Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma. They raided the Jateeri, Saktachak, Veersochak and Banyari areas of Kathua  district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
