Excise sleuths destroy 800 kgs of lahan

KATHUA, Dec 15: The Excise team Kathua, has destroyed 800 kgs of lahan in various villages of the district during a raid launched by a team of Excise sleuths today.
Led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Vikas Anand, and other staff of the department they raided the Kangrayal, Satyal, Chartayala, Birso Chak and Banyari areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 800 kgs of lahan, raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from State land & destroyed on spot.
The raid was conducted on the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohammad Javed Khan under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor in the State.
