Executions in Pakistan

Sir,
Recently Pakistan has restored the death penalty after a moratorium of about six years. After this decision the Government has started the mass executions of the convicts who have been awarded the death penalty. This decision of the Government is a violation of the human rights and not in accordance with the world opinion against the death penalty.
At a time when the world is debating against this cruel and inhuman punishment, such decision of Pakistan government is a matter of serious concern. The European Union has also shown its regret over this decision.
Pakistan has taken this step to contain the rising militancy in the country so that it serves as deterrent to the militancy crimes. But it has been seen that even by hanging the criminals there is no big decline in such crimes. They could have taken other steps like military operations which they have also started. By lifting the ban on Capital Punishment the other convicts not related with the militancy who have been awarded this punishment are also affected by this decision. All the Human Rights Organisations in Pakistan and elsewhere in the world should condemn and come forward to get this cruel decision reversed.
Yours etc….
