REASI, Apr 26: S.K.Dubey, Executive Director, Region-Jammu, NHPC Limited was on two days tour of Salal Power Station. The visiting officer was welcomed by Himanshu Shekhar, Chief General Manager, HOP, Salal Power Station, Rakesh Goel, General Manager (Civil), Ajay Shrivas, General Manager (Electrical) and other senior officers of Salal Power Station at Jyotipuram.
He was accompanied by Shekhar, CGM Salal. He visited various components of the Power Station viz Dam, Power House, Project Colony etc. At Power House, the ED was apprised about the operation and maintenance activities being taken up at Salal Power Station, highlighting the modernisation of Power House, renovation of project colony, roads, guest houses and CSR activities.
Shekhar also apprised Executive Director regarding the significant achievements of the Power Station during the year 2018-19 like installation of new modified runners to enhance the generation and installation of new digital governors, excitation system and Scada system to improve the operation and maintenance of Power House resulting in achievement of highest ever daily as well as monthly generation and enhanced annual generation of 3412 MUs against the MOU target of 3300 MUs for the year 2018-19.
Executive Director was also apprised that with the commissioning of Captive Bay, Power Station will save approximately Rs. 2 crore annually in respect of consumption of electricity for colony and other establishment.
In his address to the executives of Power Station, Dubey said that renovation of civil structures, roads in Project Colony and modernisation of Power House has brought about a sea change at Salal and desired that other power stations too should work on the lines of Salal. He expressed happiness and satisfaction over the running, maintenance and modernisation activities, taken up at Salal Power Station for enhancing the performance which resulted in record generation from Salal.
He also appreciated Salal team for the achievements and hoped that they will continue to perform with the same zeal and passion under the leadership of Himanshu Shekhar, CGM, Salal.
