JAMMU, Feb 3: Asking officers to expedite land acquisition for development projects, Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Syed Basharat Bukhari today said the Government is firm to accomplish the flagship development projects in the State in time-bound manner.
The Minister was addressing the officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of various developmental projects in various key sectors like Heath, R&B, Education etc.
Chief Secretary, B R Sharma, Commissioner- Secretary Health & Medical Education, Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Commissioner-Secretary Revenue, Muhammad Ashraf Mir and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
Basharat Bukhari asked the officers to speed up the acquisition of the land for two AIIMS at Awantipora and Samba, besides also for the Medical College coming up in district Kathua. He said the officers should ensure that land acquisition is completed within the shortest possible time so that the work can be undertaken on these prestigious projects in health sector.
The Minister said the Government has undertaken massive programme for ensuring that the State comes up as one of the model States in the country and the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is pursuing vigorously that these projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe, which would also ensure that the cost escalation is checked.
“These developmental projects would also ensure that the people of the State are provided with quality services and they do not face any inconvenience”, he added.
The Minister also asked the officers to hold regular meetings related to the acquisition cases and remove the bottlenecks if any. He said the compensation cases of the acquired properties should also settled so that the persons whose properties are being used in various developmental projects are adequately compensated.
