Expedite permanent rehabilitation plan for migrants: Mahajan to Govt

JAMMU, Sept 17: A meeting of Kashmiri migrants was held here, today under the leadership of Ramesh Chander Mahajan, chairman, Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha and a migrant leader.
The meeting reiterated the demand to expedite the concrete plan of ‘rehabilitation and permanent settlement’ with packages for Kashmiri migrants and non-migrants living in Valley.
Ramesh Chander while addressing the meeting said over 34 years Kashmiri Hindus are living in exile and their three generations have passed in the hope that the day will come when they will be rehabilitated in their homeland.
He demanded that the Government should now frame a concrete policy in this regard and settle the displaced people in their homeland in Kashmir.
He also demanded enhancement of monthly cash relief to Rs 6000/- per soul with free medical facilities to relief holders, creation of 35000 new posts in various Central and UT Government departments in lieu of 27000 retired migrant employees with 40% fixed share in job reservation and starting of on spot recruitment drive in all State/Central Police forces for migrant and non migrant unemployed Hindu youth.
He also demanded immediate announcement of new additional 15000 posts for UT of J&K with relaxation provision in Recruitment Rules 2023 of PM packages along with an age limit of 45 years for providing jobs to every single household of Kashmiri migrant and non migrant unemployed Hindu youth with implementation of transferable job policies like other employees working within UT of J&K as well as Central Government departments.
He also demanded that other demands of the community including soft loans to traders, construction of more quarters for migrants putting in rented accommodations etc.
