Experts focus on stress mgmt, drug abuse at GMC Baramulla

Srinagar, Oct 10: To commemorate World Mental Health Day 2023, the Department of Psychiatry at Govt. Medical College Baramulla, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare Baramulla, organized an event attended by experts in the field who focused on the stress management and growing drug abuse
The event commenced with an interactive workshop on Stress Management in everyday life, actively engaging students and employees from the Department of Health Education and ICDS.
Dr. Ruby Reshi, Principal of GMC Baramulla, provided insights into this year’s theme for World Mental Health Day: ‘Mental Health is a Universal Human Right.’
Subsequently, addresses were delivered by key figures, including Dr. Tajamul Hussain, Head of the Psychiatry Department; Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, Medical Superintendent of GMC Baramulla; and Prof. Tariq Chalkoo, Vice Principal of GDC Boys Baramulla. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, also shared his thoughts on the occasion.
In addition to these proceedings, the participants who had received training at the Department of Psychiatry, GMC Baramulla in the previous year were also felicitated.
Furthermore, a multidimensional interactive panel discussion focused on the topic of Drug Abuse, featuring SSP Baramulla, Amod Ashok Nagpure, and Mufti Tanveer Ahmad, among other dignitaries.
The event concluded with the felicitation of panelists and dignitaries, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Tajamul Hussain, Head of Psychiatry at GMC Baramulla.
