Experts share experience, pitch for max use of Jan Aushadhi products

SRINAGAR, Oct 10: The experts who had assembled here to celebrate Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Mahotsav today pitched for the maximum use of Jan Aushadhi products in J&K for effectiveness in the treatment of various diseases.
The event in this regard was organized by the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) here at Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, SMHS, Hospital.
The celebrations on the day began with medical camp for patients inside the Hazratbal Shrine complex which was inaugurated by Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Dr S Mohammad Saleem Khan HoD Social and Preventive Medicine and was attended by all stakeholders of Jan Aushadhi including Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer, PMBI J&K.
The medical camp was attended by a large number of patients who were examined by senior faculty members of Government Medical College, Srinagar.
On the occasion, patients were given free medicine followed by Kit distribution by chief guest Dr Darakshan Anrabi. Rifat Nazir briefed about the benefits of Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana.
“The program is aimed at creating awareness about the benefits of the scheme through which quality medicines are made available to the general public at affordable prices,” she said.
She said that hundreds of such stores have already been established throughout J&K and the celebrations continue with Jan Aushadhi Paricharcha with eminent doctors of Government Medical College and its Associated Hospitals.
Paricharcha started with the welcome address by Rifat Nazir Nodal officer, followed by a speech by Dr. S Mohammad Saleem Khan, Dr. Naveed Nazir Shah, HoD Chest Medicine, Dr. Zubair Saleem Consultant JLNM Hospital, Srinagar and Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Medical Superintendent, SMHS Hospital.
All the speakers talked about the benefits, and clinical experience with Jan Aushadhi products and encouraged its maximum use for the treatment of various diseases.
On this occasion, all the dignitaries visited Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, SMHS, Hospital for taking first-hand information about the enhanced availability of Jan Aushadhi medicines.
After the program, while interacting with the media Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer, talked about the benefits of the scheme while underlining that every help would be provided to people to reap the benefits of the scheme.
