Export awareness programme held at JU

JAMMU, Mar 9: Export Awareness Programme for first generation entrepreneurs took place in The Business School, University of Jammu, here today.
The programme, organized by Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, GoI and JU Business School, encompassed a clump of lectures, which dwelled upon the Export awareness.
The first lecture was delivered by Amit Kumar, ITS, Dy Director General of Foreign Trade wherein he emphasized upon how exports have become a backbone of our nation.
In the next lecture, Ashok Kumar Mattu, General Manager, RBI, Jammu, made all the students acquaint with the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and also discussed about how Reserve Bank of India has waxed and waned over a period of time in formulating exports related acts and policies.
The last lecture of the Export Awareness Programme was presented by Vijay Kumar Jain, MD, VKC Nuts Pvt Ltd wherein he said that the students must avail entrepreneurial opportunity existing in the State and shared his experience with the students.
A special address was delivered by Sourabh Bhagat, Secretary Industries & Commerce wherein he made all the students aware of the resources produced within the J&K State and their contributions in the total exports of India. Besides this, he apprised the students about the need to realize their true potential and caliber and exploit the opportunities existing in the State for Cross LoC trade and export promotion.
Earlier, the awareness programme on Exports was started off with the welcome address by Prof Versha Mehta, Director, The Business School, JU. Ramesh Kumar Verma, ITS, Asstt Director General of Foreign Trade presented a formal vote of thanks.
Aruna Narula from DGFT, Dr Amisha Gupta and Dr Rachna, Assistant Professors, The Business School were the coordinators of the programme.
