JAMMU, Feb 9: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla today said that creation of new administrative units will benefit people of all the areas.
Addressing a gathering at Rajiv Gandhi Park at Gangyal, Mr Bhalla said that Government is resolved to improve living condition of the people by making available all basic facilities in all areas of the state. He appealed the people to extend their cooperation to the Government in taking forward the developmental projects started in their areas.
Responding to the demand of locals, Mr Bhalla informed that Union Health Ministry has approved the proposal of Rs 52 crore for construction of 3-storey 100-beded hospital on available 16 kanal land near Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Gangyal. He said with the completion of the new hospital, the burden on the Government Medical College (GMC), Gandhi Nagar Hospital and SMGS Hospital would be reduced to a certain extent.
Reiterating Government’s determination to provide better basic amenities to the people, the Minister said that the Government has taken several innovative measures to raise the living standard of the people, including those residing in peripheral areas of the urban centers. He said that objective of the Government is to develop all the areas of the State on modern lines, adding that fulfilment of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is the top agenda of the Government.
The Minister said Government has spent Rs. 1.6 crore for development of recreational park along the Ranbir canal at Gangyal. He said that the Park has been developed with all modern line facilities including landscaping, illumination, seating, walkway, irrigation and drinking water facilities.
For providing uninterrupted power supply in Gangyal, Babliana and its adjoining areas, Government has upgraded 6.3 MVA station to 10 MVA, Mr. Bhalla said and called upon the people to use power judiciously.
Meanwhile, Mr Bhalla inaugurated Dr Lal Path Lab at Karanbagh.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that financial assistance is provided to unemployed youth of the State under various schemes for establishing small and large scale industries through KVIB, KVIC on minimal rate of interest. He called upon the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of such schemes in opening their own ventures.
The Minister stressed upon the officers to provide proper information and guidance to the unemployed youth so that they can avail the benefits of various self-employment schemes. He said that the employment fairs being organized across the state, besides establishment of counseling centers was an important step taken by the Government in providing vital information to the youth regarding employment opportunities.
