In light of recent attacks on pilgrims in Reasi and the rise in militant activities in Jammu, Gupta assured that security strategies have been enhanced. “We have thoroughly analyzed the modus operandi of militants and are prepared to thwart any attempts. The incidents in Jammu and other past events have been studied, and our security measures have been designed accordingly,” he said.
He added that there was no need to worry, as tight security has been ensured at all locations, from food and lodging to the safe conduct of pilgrims’ rituals. “The army and other security forces are involved to provide foolproof security. We monitor the movement of pilgrims, both in convoys and non-convoys, and maintain our presence at all access points,” he said.
Gupta also highlighted the utilization of high-tech gadgets, including CCTV cameras, X-ray machines, and drones, to ensure there are no gaps in the security arrangements. “We continuously monitor the modus operandi of terrorists and adapt our security plans accordingly. Pilgrims should not worry and can travel at their convenience, whether in their own vehicles or otherwise, as security plans are in place,” he said.
He said the preparations are being conducted as per established drills. “The preparations are underway, and all arrangements will be in place ahead of time,” he said.
He also mentioned that these security measures would be fully established before the start of the Amarnath Yatra. “Let all pilgrims come without hesitation. We are here to ensure their security and safety. The only request is to follow the various advisories from the police to ensure their safety,” he said.
