Srinagar, Nov 13: Baramulla police arrested three extortionists and recovered an Air Pistol that was used in the commission of the crime from them.
Police said that last week some unknown persons barged in the room of Mohammad Ansari resident of Kholagari Bihar at present Sheeri and extorted two mobile phones and some cash on gun point. A case FIR No. 66/2013 under Sections 392,506 RPC was registered in Police Station Sheeri and investigation started.
Police said that during the investigation police rounded up number of suspected persons of the area for questioning and after strenuous efforts, Sheeri police arrested three persons involved in the extortion. The three accused Tanveer Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohammad, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Aziz and Javid Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Ahad residents of Sheeri were put to sustained questioning who confessed to the commission of the crime.
Sheeri police recovered an Air Pistol used in the commission of the crime from the instances of the accused and also recovered the two looted mobile phones and the cash from them.
