JAMMU, Oct 5: Four day long Eye check-up and surgical camp organized by Leighton Welspun Contractor Private Limited and Rotary Eye Foundation, Udhampur at Sher-e-Kashmir Memorial Emergency Hospital, Batote concluded.
On the concluding day, BMO, Batote Dr Slathia, was the chief guest, while, Major Sireshta of Leighton Welspun, DN Sharma, Chairman, Rotary Eye Foundation, Rajendra Sanson, secretary general, VS Raja, senior vice chairman, Dr Manoj Kumar Yadav and local populace were present.
During the camp, 538 patients were examined out of which Dr Manoj Yadav, renowned Eye Surgeon, operated 60 patients for implantation of Intra-ocular lens.
While speaking, members of Rotary Club, Udhampur, appealed the Health authorities to come forward for eradication of preventable blindness.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, and Bruce, Project Director, Leighton Welspun Contractor Private Limited inaugurated the camp.
While speaking, Shabir Ahmed Bhat urged the Rotary Eye Foundation, Udhampur, to organize such eye camps in future also, to treat people suffering with cataract blindness.
