Eye screening camp held

JAMMU, Oct 11: Udhampur Rotary Eye & General Welfare Foundation and Rotary Club Udhampur in collaboration with KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital organized a free eye screening camp at PHC Basantgarh to observe ‘World Sight Day’.
Main objective of the camp was to prevent avoidable blindness. About 250 patients were examined in the camp out of which 48 were screened for cataract surgery. The surgery of the patients will be performed at KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur on October 15 and 20.
During the camp, the doctors and members of Rotary Club observed that more such camps will be needed in future in such areas. The team of doctors that provided their services to make the camp successful was led by D.N Sharma, Chairman and Medical Director, Dr Ankur Goel of Rotary Eye Hospital.
BMO Basantgarh, Dr Sheikh Yasir Nazir and his team also co-operated to make the eye camp successful.
