SRINAGAR, July 14: Candidates who qualified for the position of Finance Account Assistant (FAA) today protested against the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) out of concern that their final selection list would be disregarded.
Scores of candidates assembled at Partap Park, Press Enclave here and raised slogans in support of their demands. They said that there were rumors that the FAA selection list would be scrapped since it was suggested that some applicants may have cheated during the exam. Click here to watch video
While braving torrential rain, candidates raised anti-JKSSB slogans and demanded the LG administration to hold them accountable. “We had hoped that after passing the exam, our problems with unemployment would be over, but the rumors that the entire shortlist may be discarded are keeping us up at night,” a protesting candidate said, adding that if some applicants cheated on the exam, why should all of the chosen applicants bear the cost of their mistake?
The candidates said that the rumors were detrimental to their mental health and that the JKSSB should be clear on the matter. “Our mental health is suffering as a result of this uncertainty. Scores of young people will be left jobless, discouraged, and dissatisfied if the entire list is discarded,” he said.
The candidates requested the LG administration to take notice of what they claimed to be JKSSB’s mismanagement, which had jeopardized the futures of eligible candidates.
It is important to note that the JKSSB offered openings for Junior Assistant, Sub Auditor, and Finance Account Assistant (FAA) in December 2020. These exams were held in March 2022. The JKSSB released the merit list on April 22, 2022.
