Facing criticism, DSEK again changes school timing in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Facing criticism from parents and students, the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has again changed school timing within Municipal limits in Srinagar, where Darbar, seat of the Jammu and Kashmir Government will reopen in summer capital on Monday.

An official spokesman said here this evening that  DSEK, issued revised school timings for Government as well as recognised private schools.

Accordingly, the timing of schools within the Municipal limits of Srinagar city will be from 0830 hrs to 1430 hrs. Earlier, it was 0800 hrs to 1400 hrs, evoking sharp reaction from parents who alleged that students of lower classes were being punished to allow free movement of vehicles carrying ministers and top bureaucrats.

He said for the schools falling outside Srinagar Municipal limits, timings will be from 0930 hrs to 1530 hrs from May 8. (AGENCIES)
