REASI, Nov 18: Up in arms against shifting of their Rehris, members of Fadi Workers Union today held a strong protest demonstration against the District administration and Municipal Committee Reasi.
Amidst raising of slogans against shifting of Rehris from Bus Stand to new location at Thappa Chowk Reasi, the Union members went on strike and staged a dharna near the statue of General Zorawar Singh at Bus Stand Reasi.
The union members said that scores of vendors were earning their livelihood by selling fruits and vegetable at Bus Stand Reasi ever since the said market had been in existence from lasts several decades. However, they added, the administration has virtually deprived them from earning their livelihood by shifting the Reharis to isolated place.
Later on Congress workers along with district president Kewal Singh also joined the protesting Fadi workers and assured that he would arrange a meeting of them with Lieutenant Governor for apprising him of the issue.
