Fake certificate racket busted, 4 arrested

Srinagar, Sept 21: Authorities today busted a racket by arresting four persons who were allegedly involved in issuing fake income certificates by using forged signatures and seal of Tehsildars.
Tehsildar Eidgah Srinagar with the assistance of SDPO Hazratbal and SHO Zadibal Police Station laid a successful raid on a computer centre at Alamgiri Bazar Chowk in old city and busted a racket of accused who were involved in forging fake documents.
The documents include income certificates under the fake signatures and seals of Tehsildar Eidgah, Khanyar and Srinagar central.
During the raid, seals of CMO and other offices and dozens of fake income certificates were recovered. Laptops and cash around Rs 40, 000 were also confiscated.
The main accused identified as Zeeshan Ahmad along with three others were arrested on the spot. A case has been registered in police station Zadibal.
