JAMMU, Jan 31: The Border Security Force (BSF) today Rs 2 lakh worth fake Indian currency and two kg heroin having international market value of Rs 10 crores from the forward area of Bahram Gala in Pargwal sector of Akhnoor tehsil along the International Border.
However, no arrests have been made in this connection.
Official sources said the jawans of 32 BSF spotted suspicious objects lying close to the IB at Bahram Gala and recovered them. The consignment included Rs 2 lakh worth fake Indian currency in the denomination of 500 and two packets of heroin, weighing one kg each, valued at Rs 10 crores in the international market.
“At about 11.55 am, the BSF troops patrolling the border recovered the consignment, which had been buried under the soil at a distance of five meters from the International Border towards the Indian territory,’’ they said, adding that the anti-national elements might have been looking for an opportunity to ferry this consignment into the Indian side.
However, the alert BSF jawans thwarted nefarious designs of the anti-national elements, they said.
