Fake currency worth Rs 4500 seized, 3 held

RAJOURI, Apr 20: The police in Kotranka arrested three people and recovered fake currency worth Rs 4500 from their possession.
Official sources said that police received information that some people are roaming in the market of Kotranka with fake currency, who are residents of different villages of Kotranka and are using fake currency in the market. Taking notice police immediately swung into action and arrested Sikandar Shah, son of Manwar Shah, resident of Draj village Budhal, Zafar Shah, son of Haider Shah, resident of Targain in Budhal and Abid Shah, son of Yusuf Shah, resident of Targain village Budhal. After their frisking the police recovered Rs 4500 from their possession.
The currency was found to be fake and the police registered a case FIR number 41/2024 under Section 489B/489C IPC at Police Station Kotranka and started further investigation. All the three were arrested. The police is collecting information from the arrested people about their backward and forward links so that other people involved in the illegal trade of fake currency could also be nabbed.
Pertinently, in the first week of this month, police had arrested the wife of Lashkar commander Talib Shah, his brother-in-law and another person, resident of Draj in Kotranka and later on their disclosure, they also recovered an IED. The arrested woman OGW and two other people were working as over ground workers for the terrorists.
