Familiarization tour for UAE operators to boost tourism

Srinagar, Oct 8: The Khyber Himalayan Resort, Spa, Air India and Mascot Travels hosted a “Familiarization Tour” for selected United Arab Emirates (UAE) tour operators to Jammu and Kashmir to boost tourism.
“The Arab market, with a primary focus on UAE, is a major potential market for Jammu and Kashmir. The salubrious climate throughout the year, spectacular scenery, natural beauty, snowfall, the arts and crafts of the region, the delicious cuisine of Kashmir, makes the State an exotic destination not only for the Arabs, but also the large expat communities living in the UAE and, of course, for Indians coming back for home for the holidays,” a statement issued here said
During their stay at The Khyber from Oct 7 to Oct 9, the group visited Drung, Baba Reshi, Saint Mary’s Church, Maharani Mandir and took a ride on the Gondola, the statement read, adding in Srinagar, they will visit the The Lalit Grand Palace Hotel, go on a shikara ride on Nageen Lake and experience living in a house boat.
The FAM comprised of some of the leading tour operators of UAE that include ITL Travel, Jamal Travel Agency (RAK), ATS Travel LLC, Al Hind Travel & Tour, Deira Travel & Tourist Agency, Buhaira Travel, Kanoo Travels, Air Link International, Orient Travel & Tourism Agency, Al Futtaim Travels, Uranus Travel and Arabian Travel Agency (GSA- Air India).
On this occasion, Umar Tramboo, who is Managing Director, Pinnacle Resorts Private Limited, promoter of The Khyber Himalayan Resort and Spa, Gulmarg and Yaseen Tuman of Mascot Travels thanked all the delegates for visiting Kashmir and also thanked Parminder Pal Singh, Sales Manager, Air India, Dubai, Sharjah and N.E for organizing the tour and bringing top tour operators to showcase Kashmir.
Prior to arriving in the Valley, the delegation spent four days in Ladakh as well, hosted by The Grand Dragon Ladakh.
