JAMMU, Nov 29: Jammu Police organized a familiarization visit of children from Bal Niketan, Ambphalla at Police Station Pacca Danga.
Two batches of children visited Police Station. They were apprised about the working of different Sections of Police Station and duties performed by police officials.
The idea behind this visit was to allow children, especially the vulnerable children, who stay at the Bal Niketan, to understand the role of police, their duties and how police maintains law and order in society and ensures safety of each and every law abiding citizen. They were also made aware about how police makes sure the violators of peace are locked behind the bars.
The motive of this visit was also to make these children understand that no law abiding citizen should be afraid of police and how children can start looking at police station as a center help and support rather than a lockup cell.
SP North PD Nitya, SDPO City North Satish Kumar, SHO Police Station Pacca Danga Inspector Ajit Singh and other police officials were present in the Police Station.
Later, school bags were distributed among the children.
