POONCH, Mar 1: Some matrimonial dispute between two families led to murder of a person and serious injuries to four others, here at Mandi Sathra, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Mandi.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Mandi Hospital and their condition was stated to be stable. The main accused, who are real brothers and cousins of the deceased, are absconding even as Police has registered the case and launched a hunt to arrest them.
The deceased was identified as Manzoor Hussain (60), son of Noor Mohd while his two brothers, namely Mohd Hussain and Zakir Hussain have sustained serious injuries. Other two injured, namely Mohd Farooq and his brother Talab Hussain, sons of Nazir Hussain, are also cousins of the deceased.
Reports said that the families of injured and the absconding accused were holding a meeting to resolve some matrimonial dispute when a verbal dual took place between them. The heated exchange of words soon turned into bloody clash in which long heavy sticks and stones were used to attack each other.
Accused Fareed and his brother Mohd Tuffail allegedly hit Manzoor Hussain on his head causing death of the victim. In the clash, two brothers of deceased and his two cousins sustained injuries while both the accused fled the scene after the incident.
