Families of agitating JU employees join protest demonstration

Jammu, Mar 22: As the ongoing token strike by the non-teaching and non-gazetted employees of the Jammu University entered into 20 consecutive day on Wednesday, families of some agitating employees joined the protest demonstration on the campus.
As per the agitational programme today, the employees suspended their work for five hours and held a strong protest demonstration in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat.
During the demonstration, held under the banner of Jammu University Non Teaching Employees and Non Gazetted Employees Union, the agitating employees and their family members raised slogans against the University administration and in support of their demands.
The speakers, during their address, reiterated demands of the employees and alleged that attitude of the JU authorities is highly condemnable, which has forced 1500 employees to suspend their work and sit on dharna for their demands.   They also threatened to further intensify the ongoing agitational programme if their demands are not conceded by the university administration.
The Unions are demanding placement of employees of non gazetted in the grade pay of Rs 1800, re-engagement of disengaged Human Genetics Staff, etc.
The office bearers of SKUAST (J) Non-Teaching Employees Association also joined the protest for supporting the demands of JU employees.
The demonstration was addressed by  Pawan Singh Bhau ,  Vijay Kumar,  Vikas Langer,  Abhinav Sharma,  Vidhya Lal,  Banarasi Lal,   Padam Shri Padamani,   Niranjan Singh Charak,  Joginder Singh Chib,   Kewal Kumar,  Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh, .Raj Kumar, Om Parkash,  Ashok Kumar  and others.
