JAMMU, Mar 6: The family members and relatives of the Indian Navy sailor, Sahil Verma, who went missing at sea from Indian Naval ship whilst on deployment, staged a demonstration here today.
Raising slogans like “Hamara Sahil Wapis Karo,” “Indian Navy Jawab Do,” the family members of the missing sailor gathered at Marh area of Jammu and blocked the vehicular movement in the form of a protest.
Addressing media persons, the mother of the missing sailor said, “I wish my child is safe, wherever he is.”
She asked, “why the Navy is silent on this issues? Why they’re not sharing the details about my son?”
According to her, Sahil Verma would tell her telephonically that his colleagues didn’t like him.
“This needs to be investigated,” she said, adding, “The Navy should come clear on this incident.”
Pertinently, Sahil Verma, an Indian Navy sailor from Ghou Manhasan area in Marh Block of Jammu District went missing from his ship in Mumbai on February 27 morning.
His family in Jammu has been protesting since then, demanding a CBI probe into the incident.
