JAMMU, Sept 5: Family members of deceased Avtar Singh, who was allegedly murdered by land mafia in Jammu two months back, today alleged delay in appointment of special Public Prosecutor for the case in Court of Law.
Talking to media persons, here today, the family members lamented that despite personal assurance by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, bureaucracy hurdles were being created in appointment of particularly Public Prosecutor.
“We have been running from pillar to post for the appointment of Rajesh Kotwal as Public Prosecutor in the case, but the authorities at the helm of affairs are intentionally delaying action on our request,” said father of deceased Avtar Singh.
He further said that due to delay in appointment of Public Prosecutor, they were unable to get their case effectively pleaded in the court for justice.
Family members of the deceased also listed some names allegedly involved in intentionally delaying the appointment of particular Public Prosecutor for shielding the accused involved in murder of Avtar Singh.
They appealed to the Lt Governor to personally intervene into the matter and ensure early appointment of the particularly Public Prosecutor for justice to them.
